A label she couldn't read
In the winter of 2021, our founder Aisha brought her newborn son home and reached for a "gentle, baby-safe" lotion. She turned the bottle over and froze — a wall of unpronounceable chemicals, a long list of things she'd never knowingly put on her own skin, let alone his.
She started reading. Researching. Calling cosmetic chemists. What she found was an industry leaning on "baby-friendly" claims while quietly using the cheapest possible ingredients. So she did what frustrated parents have always done — she decided to build something better herself.
Babe n Baby began with a single recipe, mixed and re-mixed at her kitchen table until it was honest enough to use on her own child. Five years on, that same standard governs every product we make.
